ONE-DNA™ mini-pitch for Dutch municipality

KSP Kunstgras completed the construction of a new mini-pitch at Ton Lutzstraat in Berkel en Rodenrijs on behalf of the municipality of Lansingerland. Located next to primary school IKC De Gouden Griffel, the new football field was designed as a publicly accessible facility where pupils and local residents can play and exercise throughout the year.

Designed for intensive use

The municipality was looking for a hard-wearing playing surface that could accommodate frequent use while maintaining a natural appearance and consistent playability.

Given the expected intensity of use at this location, the project team selected a system incorporating ONE-DNA™ artificial grass, which at the time was made in 100% PE (one polymer), providing a surface designed for year-round recreational use.

The field is enclosed with wooden fencing and forms part of the municipality’s broader efforts to create attractive outdoor spaces for sport, play, and community activities.

Attention to project execution

In addition to material selection, the municipality and project partners paid attention to the way the project was delivered.

According to Eveline van der Velden, project officer for the municipality of Lansingerland:

“The project was carried out using electric equipment where possible, including an electric excavator. In this way, consideration was given not only to the selected materials, but also to the execution of the work itself.”

Creating space for play and recreation

The completed mini-pitch provides a new recreational facility for both the school and the surrounding neighbourhood.

By combining hard-wearing materials, thoughtful design, and practical functionality, the project demonstrates how municipalities can create attractive and accessible sports and play environments tailored to local needs.

We thank the municipality of Lansingerland and KSP Kunstgras for their collaboration and are proud to have contributed to this project.

Update, October 2026: this project used ONE-DNA™ in 100% PE. ONE-DNA™ sport surfaces are now supplied in 100% PO; see Technology for the current material routes.
