In March 2025 ONE-DNA™ was assessed by Byggvarubedömningen (BVB) and classified as ‘Recommended’. BVB is one of Sweden’s best-known building product assessment systems. The classification was based on its independent evaluation of the product information, material composition and chemical content submitted at the time.
For architects, contractors, municipalities and project developers, BVB assessments provide an additional source of information when evaluating materials for construction and public-space projects.
About Byggvarubedömningen
Byggvarubedömningen (BVB) is a Swedish non-profit organization that assesses building products based on documented product information and defined assessment criteria. The system is widely used within the Swedish construction sector to support material selection and procurement processes.
Products are classified according to a three-level system:
- Recommended
- Accepted
- Avoid
The classifications help professionals compare products using a consistent and transparent framework.
What this meant for ONE-DNA™
The Recommended classification reflected the material information, documentation and assessment data submitted for review.
Independent evaluation plays an important role within the ONE-DNA™ approach. Product documentation, material composition and supporting information are made available to help customers make informed decisions throughout specification and procurement processes.
The assessment also aligned with broader industry trends towards increased transparency and product information within the built environment.
Transparency through documentation
At the time of the assessment, ONE-DNA™ was made in 100% PE (one polymer) and supported by product-specific documentation, environmental data and project registration.
Through the ONE-DNA™ registration system of that time, installations could be linked to documented product information and a traceable record throughout the project lifecycle.
Together, these elements supported greater transparency for project owners, contractors and specifiers.
Independent assessment matters
As material transparency becomes increasingly important across construction and public-space projects, independent assessments provide valuable reference points for decision-makers.
The BVB Recommended classification was an important milestone for ONE-DNA™ and showed the value of transparent product information, documented material composition and independent assessment.
Update, October 2026: the BVB classification dates from March 2025 and relates to the product information assessed at that time. The range at the time was based on polyethylene (PE); see Technology for the current material routes.
