In the heart of Giszowiecki Park in Katowice, Poland, ECO TOP has transformed a worn playground into a welcoming and functional play environment. The renovation included the installation of approximately 450 m² of ONE-DNA™ Vista 30 (product name at the time) artificial grass, creating a fresh and inviting space for children and families.
Built on what was already there
Rather than completely rebuilding the site, the project team chose to retain and repair the existing PU subbase. By making use of the existing foundation, the project avoided unnecessary reconstruction work while providing a solid base for the new surface.
This approach helped reduce installation complexity, minimize disruption on site and lower overall project costs.
A practical transformation
The difference was immediately visible. Areas that had become worn and less attractive were transformed into a clean and accessible play environment.
The new artificial grass surface provides a comfortable and visually appealing setting that integrates naturally with the surrounding park. Parents, children and local residents quickly embraced the renewed space.
“A simple renovation with a big impact,” said the investor, describing the installation as a practical and visually attractive solution.
More than a surface upgrade
For ECO TOP, projects like this are about creating play environments that remain functional, safe and enjoyable for everyday use. By combining thoughtful design decisions with carefully selected materials, the company continues to develop spaces that support play, movement and social interaction.
The Katowice project demonstrates how existing infrastructure can be successfully upgraded through practical design choices and efficient installation methods, giving a well-used community space a new chapter.
