Venture Play transforms Oxfordshire schoolyard with ONE-DNA™

In Oxfordshire, UK, Venture Play has completed the transformation of a school playground that had long been affected by changing weather conditions. What was once a muddy and difficult-to-maintain outdoor area is now a clean, practical and inviting space for everyday play and learning.

Solving a familiar challenge

For years, the school experienced issues commonly associated with natural grass playgrounds. During dry periods, dust and sand regularly found their way into classrooms and corridors. During wet weather, large areas became muddy and difficult to use, limiting outdoor activities and increasing maintenance demands.

The school wanted a surface that would remain attractive, accessible and functional throughout the year.

Designed for daily use

To address these challenges, Venture Play installed approximately 500 square metres of ONE-DNA™ Vista artificial grass.

The project was completed over a two-week period by a dedicated installation team, creating a surface designed to support everyday school activities while providing a clean and welcoming environment for students.

Developed around a 100% PE (one polymer) design, ONE-DNA™ combines practical performance with transparent material composition and documented product information.

A smooth delivery

The project required careful planning and coordination to minimise disruption to the school environment. From the initial consultation through to final installation, the focus remained on delivering a practical solution that met the school’s requirements.

The result is a playground that can be used throughout the year, helping students make the most of their outdoor space regardless of weather conditions.

A place to learn and play

The completed playground has been well received by both staff and students. By replacing a challenging outdoor area with a reliable and attractive surface, the school has created a space that supports play, movement and social interaction every day.

Dallan Tan from Venture Play commented:

Our goal is to create engaging and practical play environments that schools can rely on. This project is a great example of how thoughtful design and careful installation can transform the way an outdoor space is used.

Update, October 2026: this article reflects the ONE-DNA™ range at the time of publication, based on polyethylene (PE). ONE-DNA™ now also includes a 100% PO route; see Technology for the current material routes.
