Applications · Roof systems
On a roof, the grass is the last layer.
Roof terraces and podiums are specified from the waterproofing up.
Choose a surface that fits the build-up the roof designer has set.

What matters
What the roof designer will ask.
A roof is a system. The grass has to fit into it, not the other way round.
- DrainageWater has to reach the roof outlets without ponding. The surface and the layers under it are designed together.
- Load and windWeight, ballast and wind uplift are assessed for the whole roof, not the grass alone.
- FireFire requirements for roofs and terraces apply to the complete build-up. Ask for the configuration tested.

Products
Four surfaces for roof terraces.
All four are available in 100% PE or 100% PO. The roof designer confirms the fit with the build-up. Test results are stated per product on each product page.
Before you specify
What to agree before anything is laid.
Involve the roof designer before you choose a surface.
Roof performance, including external fire performance, is assessed for the complete roof build-up. ONE-DNA™ is the top layer.
Can artificial grass be installed on any roof?
Only where the roof designer confirms it fits the waterproofing, drainage, load and fire requirements. The surface is the last layer of a roof system.
Does artificial grass on a roof need a fire classification?
Often, depending on the building and local regulations. ONE-DNA™ fire classes are tested to the European standard EN 13501-1 and apply only to the configuration tested.
How is artificial grass fixed on a roof?
That depends on the roof build-up and wind exposure. The roof designer and installer decide the method, and the waterproofing must stay intact.

Can ONE-DNA™ roof surfaces be recycled?
They are designed for recycling: fibre and backing are joined without a conventional latex or polyurethane coating, and each product follows one material route. Whether a surface is actually recycled depends on removal, collection and the recycling options available at the time. More on end of life →
