{"id":27278,"date":"2024-05-16T14:10:00","date_gmt":"2024-05-16T12:10:00","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/one-dna.com\/?p=27278"},"modified":"2026-11-02T04:47:51","modified_gmt":"2026-11-02T03:47:51","slug":"one-dna-football-pitch-in-tilburg-by-ksp","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/one-dna.com\/us\/one-dna-football-pitch-in-tilburg-by-ksp\/","title":{"rendered":"ONE-DNA\u2122 soccer field in Tilburg by KSP"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>KSP Kunstgras completed the installation of a ONE-DNA\u2122 soccer field in the Tivoli district of Tilburg, the Netherlands, on behalf of the municipality.<\/p>\n<p>The project provides a practical example of how municipalities are increasingly evaluating product performance, material composition and documented environmental information when selecting artificial grass systems for public spaces.<\/p>\n<h4>A new sports facility for the community<\/h4>\n<p>The soccer field was developed as a recreational and sporting facility for local residents, providing a hard-wearing and attractive surface for everyday use.<\/p>\n<p>Installed by KSP Kunstgras, the project combined quality sports infrastructure with a product supported by transparent material information and independent documentation.<\/p>\n<h4>The ONE-DNA\u2122 concept<\/h4>\n<p>The field was installed with ONE-DNA\u2122 artificial grass in 100% PE (one polymer).<\/p>\n<p>The approach focused on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Material transparency<\/li>\n<li>Simplified material composition<\/li>\n<li>Product traceability<\/li>\n<li>Design for recycling principles<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>By using one polymer throughout, the product differed from many conventional artificial grass systems that combine multiple material types within a single product.<\/p>\n<h4>Environmental Product Declaration (EPD)<\/h4>\n<p>At the time, the ONE-DNA\u2122 product used in this project was covered by a 2024 MRPI Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) for the product stage (A1 to A3), based on production at the former Hasselt site.<\/p>\n<p>An EPD provides independently verified environmental information based on a Life Cycle Assessment (LCA) and allows products to be evaluated using a recognized and standardized methodology.<\/p>\n<p>For municipalities and project owners, EPDs can support procurement processes by providing transparent and comparable product information.<\/p>\n<h4>A practical example of material transparency<\/h4>\n<p>The Tivoli project demonstrates how public-sector projects increasingly consider factors beyond appearance and performance alone.<\/p>\n<p>Material composition, independent documentation and product transparency are becoming more important elements within the decision-making process.<\/p>\n<h4>Looking ahead<\/h4>\n<p>The installation of the ONE-DNA\u2122 soccer field in Tilburg highlighted the growing role of documented product information within public projects.<\/p>\n<p>Through collaboration between the municipality of Tilburg, KSP Kunstgras and the ONE-DNA\u2122 partner network, the project delivered a modern sports facility and a practical example of how product transparency and material design can support informed decision-making.<\/p>\n<p><em>Update, October 2026: this project used ONE-DNA\u2122 in 100% PE. ONE-DNA\u2122 sport surfaces are now supplied in 100% PO; see <a href=\"https:\/\/one-dna.com\/us\/technology\/\">Technology<\/a>.
