This is why transparency and independently verified information are becoming increasingly important.<\/p>\n<h4>What should professionals look for?<\/h4>\n<p>When evaluating artificial grass products, several factors are worth considering:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Material composition<\/li>\n<li>Product performance<\/li>\n<li>Safety documentation<\/li>\n<li>Independent certifications<\/li>\n<li>Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs)<\/li>\n<li>Product traceability<\/li>\n<li>Warranty and support<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>A combination of these factors provides a more complete picture than relying on marketing claims alone.<\/p>\n<h4>The ONE-DNA\u2122 approach<\/h4>\n<p>ONE-DNA\u2122 artificial grass was developed around a 100% PE (one polymer) design. This created a consistent material composition throughout the product and supported Design for Recycling principles.<\/p>\n<p>The concept focuses on:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Material transparency<\/li>\n<li>Product traceability<\/li>\n<li>Independent documentation<\/li>\n<li>Long-term product management<\/li>\n<li>Verified environmental reporting<\/li>\n<li>Product quality and appearance<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>Alongside material composition, product performance remains essential.<\/p>\n<p>ONE-DNA\u2122 products are designed to provide a natural appearance and reliable performance across a wide range of landscaping applications, including gardens, public spaces and recreational environments.<\/p>\n<h4>Safety and documentation<\/h4>\n<p>At the time, ONE-DNA\u2122 products were supported by independent test reports; the documents available differed per product. Available documentation included information relating to:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Product safety<\/li>\n<li>Material composition<\/li>\n<li>Environmental Product Declarations (2024 MRPI EPDs, A1 to A3, former Hasselt production)<\/li>\n<li>Life Cycle Assessments (LCAs)<\/li>\n<li>Product performance testing<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>This allows project owners and installers to evaluate products using documented information rather than assumptions.<\/p>\n<h4>Registration and traceability<\/h4>\n<p>ONE-DNA\u2122 products can be registered through the ONE-DNA\u2122 platform, creating a documented record of the installation.<\/p>\n<p>This supports product traceability and provides project owners with access to relevant product information throughout the product lifecycle.<\/p>\n<h4>Making informed decisions<\/h4>\n<p>As expectations around product transparency continue to grow, access to reliable information is becoming increasingly important.<\/p>\n<p>By focusing on documented product characteristics, independently verified information and material transparency, landscapers and artificial grass professionals can help customers make informed decisions based on facts rather than claims.<\/p>\n<h4>Looking ahead<\/h4>\n<p>The future of landscaping is likely to be shaped by better information, greater transparency and more thoughtful product design.<\/p>\n<p>For professionals, understanding what a product is made of and how it is documented is becoming just as important as how it looks and performs.<\/p>\n<p><em>Update, October 2026: this article reflects the ONE-DNA\u2122 range at the time of publication, based on polyethylene (PE). ONE-DNA\u2122 now also includes a 100% PO route; see <a href=\"https:\/\/one-dna.com\/au\/technology\/\">Technology<\/a>. The EPDs mentioned (MRPI, 2024) cover the product stage (A1 to A3) of products made at the former Hasselt site and do not represent current production in Portugal.
