In August 2023, the ONE-DNA\u2122 Take-Back Program was announced to provide a structured collection route for ONE-DNA\u2122 artificial grass at the end of its service life.<\/p>\n
The programme was intended to support customers, installers and project owners with a documented process for the collection and transfer of used ONE-DNA\u2122 artificial grass for further material processing.<\/p>\n
The Take-Back Program, as announced, offered two collection options.<\/p>\n
Option 1: Replacement Installation<\/strong><\/p>\n When existing ONE-DNA\u2122 artificial grass was replaced with new ONE-DNA\u2122 artificial grass, the installation partner could remove the original surface as part of the replacement project.<\/p>\n The removed material would then be collected and transferred through the Take-Back Program for further material processing.<\/p>\n For the customer, this process was to be integrated into the installation project, without additional administration.<\/p>\n Option 2: Self-Delivery<\/strong><\/p>\n Customers could also remove the artificial grass themselves and deliver the material, packed in suitable collection bags, to a participating partner location.<\/p>\n This option was intended for customers who preferred to manage removal independently while still making use of the Take-Back Program.<\/p>\n Where applicable, installed ONE-DNA\u2122 products could be registered within the Take-Back Program. Product information such as product type, roll identification and installation location could be recorded to support future collection and material tracking.<\/p>\n This registration process was intended to provide additional transparency regarding the installed product and its participation in the programme.<\/p>\n In many regions, disposal costs for artificial grass can vary depending on local waste management policies and collection systems.<\/p>\n The Take-Back Program was planned as an alternative collection route specifically designed for ONE-DNA\u2122 artificial grass products, giving customers a structured end-of-life option for the material.<\/p>\n The Take-Back Program was based on cooperation between installers, customers, collection partners and processing organisations.<\/p>\n Through this collaborative approach, materials were to be collected separately from general waste streams and directed towards appropriate processing routes where available.<\/p>\n The ONE-DNA\u2122 Take-Back Program formed part of the efforts at the time to develop practical material management solutions for artificial grass products.<\/p>\n By proposing a documented collection process and collaboration throughout the value chain, the programme set out a framework for managing ONE-DNA\u2122 artificial grass after use.<\/p>\n Update, October 2026: this article describes the ONE-DNA\u2122 Take-Back Program as presented in August 2023 and is kept as a record of that time.
