{"id":27383,"date":"2023-07-05T14:00:31","date_gmt":"2023-07-05T12:00:31","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/one-dna.com\/?p=27383"},"modified":"2026-11-02T05:57:54","modified_gmt":"2026-11-02T04:57:54","slug":"sgs-intron-ageing-tests-provide-long-term-product-data","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/one-dna.com\/au\/sgs-intron-ageing-tests-provide-long-term-product-data\/","title":{"rendered":"SGS Intron ageing tests on ONE-DNA\u2122 artificial grass"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>To better understand how ONE-DNA\u2122 artificial grass performs over time, we commissioned SGS Intron, an independent testing and certification institute, to conduct accelerated ageing tests on selected products.<\/p>\n<p>The assessment examined how exposure to environmental conditions may influence the material properties of the artificial grass over an extended period.<\/p>\n<h4>Independent ageing assessment<\/h4>\n<p>The testing programme subjected product samples to accelerated ageing conditions, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>UV radiation<\/li>\n<li>Elevated temperatures<\/li>\n<li>Water exposure<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>The purpose of the assessment was to evaluate changes in selected material characteristics after simulated long-term outdoor exposure.<\/p>\n<p>According to the test programme, the ageing process represented approximately ten years of outdoor use under controlled laboratory conditions. Accelerated ageing results are not a prediction of service life on site.<\/p>\n<h4>What was evaluated?<\/h4>\n<p>During the assessment, SGS Intron periodically measured and analysed a range of product characteristics, including:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Fibre Properties<\/li>\n<li>Fibre length<\/li>\n<li>Fibre diameter<\/li>\n<li>Colour characteristics<\/li>\n<li>Polymer Properties<\/li>\n<li>Melt Flow Index (MFI)<\/li>\n<li>Differential Scanning Calorimetry (DSC)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>These measurements were performed on both the fibres and backing materials used within the ONE-DNA\u2122 product structure.<\/p>\n<h4>Test results<\/h4>\n<p>According to SGS Intron, the tested samples showed limited changes in the measured properties following the accelerated ageing programme.<\/p>\n<p>The report noted a change in the Melt Mass-Flow Rate (MFR) of the material after exposure to the simulated ageing conditions.<\/p>\n<p>The measured results provide technical information regarding how the material characteristics evolved during the test period and contribute to a broader understanding of long-term product performance.<\/p>\n<h4>Supporting product transparency<\/h4>\n<p>Independent testing forms an important part of our commitment to providing documented product information.<\/p>\n<p>Ageing assessments, together with other technical evaluations and product testing programmes, help build a clearer understanding of material behaviour over time and provide objective data that can support specification and product selection processes.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Related:<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/one-dna.com\/au\/r-and-d\/\">R&amp;D<\/a> \u00b7 <a href=\"https:\/\/one-dna.com\/au\/technology\/\">Technology<\/a><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>To better understand how ONE-DNA\u2122 artificial grass performs over time, we commissioned SGS Intron, an independent testing and certification institute, to conduct accelerated ageing tests on selected products.
